    Employment and Expunged Record on background check
    Will an expunged record show up on a employment background check. In New Jersey in 1991 I was charged with a misdemeanor and over ten years ago had the record expunged. I applied and was offered a government county job pending the check. Will the check show the expunged record.

    What type of government job, The expunged record actually shows up on NCIC or government background searches but on private firms it is not given out. It would not show up if you were to apply to the parks department but would if you applied to the jail, or to the parking enforcement office.
