    Amendment to 2006 Tax
I filled out my parents tax forms for 2006 and already submitted it. However, I have not received a refund yet, which is what they are owed. Unfortunately, I did not know that there was additional income to report for 2006 on a 1099-MISC. What is the suggestion to report this? Do I just wait for the IRS to come after the taxes owed on it? Or, can I do an amendment to the one already submitted for 2006 a few weeks ago? Any input would help. Thanks.

Of course not, since they will add all sort of penalities and fines if you wait for them to "come get it" and they may decide to audit it while they are at it.

You file an admended tax return if you are sure this is all of the income. You may have to return a part of the refund that is sent. Depending on the filing of the admended return

Agreed! An amended return must be filed as soon as possible.

I have already submitted my 2006 tax report about three weeks ago. Since then, I discovered that I could have deducted my medical expensive which were exceptionally high in 2006. May I noe submit an amendment in order to receive a larger return?
