    HELP! Probate Law Florida
My ex husband just passed May 25, 2012. We have been divorced for years but remained very close he was not biological father to all 5 of our children but 2 were his blood. My daughter & son are 19 & 16. Our problem being my daughter was legal age when her daddy died but she hadn't even graduated from high school yet we did that day and a half after his funeral. She & I got dumped on for the funeral and everything with no help from his 8 sibling. Jeff (my ex) told me every phone call that the 2 youngest get everything he has. Which wasn't much. 2001 Ford explorer. And maybe a tad of money not even enough to pay for the funeral ($3305.00 funeral). Now they are telling us we have to Probate his estate... what estate? Do we need a lawyer to do this? My daughter went to amscot to try and get his acct shut down for his prepaid card and they told her she had to probate it. We are counting pennies trying to get the funeral paid off. This man lived on SS disability. Can someone help us?
