Okay well a few months back my wife & I bought a shihtzu (form a pet store) we were told he was 2.5mths old.. okay knowing from experience that's too young. We still got him anyway (mind you I have a 13yr old germ shep mix & have had dogs throughout my life). Anywhom.. now everything has been good.. he eats well when he wants too sleeps well in his own area (pen for small animals) when slp goes on paper & outside energy life span like a mouse on crack able to be of the leash already smart & well trained (just turned 5mths) Okay.. so here is the issues.. 1st off.. he refuses to eat from a bowl flate plate unless it is made mixed and put down a specific way.. on the floor mainly.. we have done taking the food away.. and giving to him at a later time.. he would look at the bowl/ plate and just.. whine & walking away.. laying down.or he refuses to eat until he is so hungry whining crying to the point I give in most of the time.. since I know how long he could last.. wife says he don't like his food.. I say he will grow to love it.. we feed him eucanuba.. 2x aday . Longest I Stood firm was 3days.. anywhom that's the least of my problems.. some times.. he gets in the habit of these tantrums.. that's the best way to explain it.. okay his sleeping area is in the bedroom *still in his pen. But at times he tends to go through these outburst fits.. tantrum like best to describe it.. for ex:.. he is in the pen.. and either he just ate.. just woke up.. just came in from a walk.. early in the morning before the sun is up.. I mean it can be anytime... he has these barking spastic moments.. jumping yelping.. growling running in circles.. hyper ventalating almost as if it seems he want to either be in the bed.. or in our arms.. now granted.. he has been on the bed... not for no more then a period of 30 min or so maybe 2ice a day. Picked up.. when he misses the paper area to clean the area.. anyway.. so.. the. Only time he goes through that is when he wants out.. now this isn't all the time.. he is usually pretty good.. but when he doesn't get his way... oooh boy.. its like children of the corn.. meets chucky... lol. He eats up digs up bottom of the pen /carpet and finds paper... cig pack news paper... anything.. and eats it.. she will bark sharp & loud until he tires himself out.. I mean this bastered is spastic.. lol. And can brake a nerve.. we have left him alone.. he unterstands when its lights out its sleep time.. but when he don't want to be in the pen.. my god.. now okay this happens.. maybe once or twice a day. So we resulted to buying bitter apple.. he snacks on that like children loves jello.. we have tried running him ragged to exahust him.. . 2 /3 hrs blowing energy nonstop.. he comes in 3sips of water... most of the time passes out.. but.. if he doesn't.. well you just read above what happens.. so.. how to brake him out.. help
