What are the odds of rolling two die 5 times and receiving the same number?
What are the odds of rolling two die 5 times and receiving the same number?

Two separate people are rolling two separate die. Each person rolls 5 times. What are the odds that each roller rolls the same number each time.

Ex. Roller one 2 Roller two 2
Roller one 4 Roller two 4
Roller one 6 Roller two 6
Roller one 1 Roller two 1
Roller one 4 Roller two 4
    Thanks!

For each roll of the dice it doesn't matter what the first dice turns, as long the second die matches. There are 6 possible numbers that the 2nd die could return, only one of which matches the first - so, what is the probability that it will match the first? Once you have that figured out the next step is to consider that if the probability of an event occurring is p, the probability of it occurring n times in a row is p^n. Here you want to get matching dice 5 times in a row, so n = 5. Hope this helps.
