If you are totally worried about your pup, then you had best take him to the vet. Dogs eating grass is not uncommon, they do that for stomach upset. How old is your pup? Could he have eaten something out of the river; dead fish, whatever? You have to be diligent with young dogs, they need to be watched just like little kids to see that nothing bad goes into their mouths.

Ever since I gave him his first dose of dewormer he's starting to eat and drink water and he actually has energy again he's looking way better so I'm going to keep giving him the dewormer and tomorrow I will make an app at the vet to get his shots. I'm So Happy he's getting better

He's about 15 or 16 weeks old I'm actually just looking after him the guy that dropped him off never got the puppy his shots and he hasn't been by to get his dog so I was going to take him in to get his shots. But I was watching him the only things he was picking up were sticks. If he's not better by tomorrow I will take him in but the vets aren't open today so I wanted to search online to see what I could do in the mean time

You took a dog that was unvaccinated to the river? Yipes! That's playing with fire. You could get into a lot of trouble doing that with someone else's dog and it gets sick.

Tomorrow, you should take him and get a parvo test done just to be sure. If the vet feels its OK to vaccinate then, then vaccinate.

Puppies are very susceptible to getting sick from things they pick up at rivers, such as giardia. Giardia would cause diarrhea and vomiting.

You can for today give Pepto to help calm the tummy... the dosage is 1ml per 1lb of body weight.

Please make an appointment to take your puppy to the vet.

Well we just cleaned up his poop in the yard and there were worms in it so I went and bought a deworming kit and gave him his first dose I think that's why he's sick is because the guy never dewormed him and I have to call the vet tomorrow to make an app. Also the guy who owns him told us to take him with us to the river

So I took him to the animal hospital on Monday and the doc tested him for parvo and he tested positive and the doc said he contracted it 7-10 days ago. So he caught it from the yard and he didn't think the Dog needed to stay over night so he put liquid under his skin and sent us home he told us to come back if he got worse. I read up online ways to keep him hydrated because he wouldn't eat or drink so I found a page that told me to give him pepto bismol tabs children's pedialites chicken broth and amoxicillin and a ceryinge. He was really sick for a day but now he's eating and drinking food again and we have to keep him in the house for a month and then take him to get his shots.
