    New Heating Unit
I currently need to replace my heating system which is a split 3 ton unit in our basement with outside heat pump. I have received (3) quotes Carrier, Trane, and Lenox. I also would like a humidifier, air filtration system with UV light, and variable speed. The Carrier I feel is way overpriced don't know if it's worth $12,000 and air cleaner is an additional $3360 in a separate unit. Trane seems OK but cleaneffects high efficiency air cleaner does not have UV light, salesman says I don't need one with this system, this is not a separate unit. Lenox seems reasonable but air cleaner is not as efficient as others and it's a separate unit. My house is about 2600 sf, my husband wants to put a 4ton unit in it with 16 seer, but (2) of the quotes say this is not suggested it won't be as efficient because it's oversized, the Lenox guy says he can put a 4-ton unit in that is the only unit Lenox sells with variable speed, so will this work or not. My husband says there is a regulator he can adjust down to a 3.5 ton unit in the 4-ton. What do I do?? Or is there another type of unit you would suggest that is not so overpriced and is efficient?

Generally for a 2600 sq ft home a 3 ton ac works fine,

If you cool to quickly you fail to de-humidify and that leaves you cool and clammy

April aire or spaceguard are excellent filters and will be complimented by any of the uv systems on the market..

What region i.e. midwest south etc?
