    Old movie possibly from 80s-90s
    All I remember is a real man on some island and he's talking to some weird creepy puppet creature in a coconut tree or something.

    Not really sure, but sounds like it could maybe be Muppet Treasure Island? It was done in '96, and Tim Curry was in it.
