    Can't eat around dolls?
Ever since my 7yr. Old daughter was about 3, she insist that she can't eat around dolls. Yes, baby dolls, or barbie dolls any type of human looking doll she feels as though she cannot eat around, or she will choke and it makes her feel like throwing up... I can't even hide them in her closet, they must leave the room-period. I tried to make it easier... as long as the doll is in the room she will cry so hard my only choice is to remove them. Nothing bad has ever happened to her, she isn't "traumatized" by any past experiences. What is this called and what kind of doctor can help her get through this issue? I wouldn't want this one issue to open doors to finding other objects around the house she can't eat around thus, possible creating an eating disorder.

She has a uncalled for fear. Perhaps from a movie when she was a child (very young) that she does not even remember.

Mental health counseling is needed because it could get worst

I'm 24 and I also had this since I was around the age of 3.
I can't really explain what it is but whenever I have food near a doll I instantly feel like throwing up. Even if I see them on the T.V.

It just feels like the food get's 'contaminated'. I know it sounds very weird but I honestly cannot keep food down if I try eating it knowing it has been around a doll. And it's very distressing and has had a huge impact on my life.

It used to frustrate my parents who used to refuse to feed me anything until I ate what was cooked for me and when I tried to explain I'd just get labelled as an attention seeker. It really wasn't attention seeking.

I just try and hide it from everyone now even though they see my behaviour as very awkward when I'm enjoying a meal and then 'suddenly' stop eating and scrape off my plate.

I remember thinking a movie might be the cause when I was around the age of 10 but I also have a memory of eating a yoghurt around the time my younger sister was born that I'm convinced also has something to do with it.
