Does my boyfriend want me to lose weight?
Whenever I ask my boyfriend of 1 and 1/2 yrs whether he wants me to lose weight he replies "No". I'm overweight and my height is just over 5 feet. But still he says "its fine if you want to loose weight but you dont have to do it for me...nothing would change between us...I love you the way you are".

I must say that I was really touched by his attitude. But these days he has started telling me that his friends ask him when am I going to lose weight, to which he says that it is not necessary.

Why does he tell me all these? Am I reading too much into his words or does he really want me to lose weight?

Now, being in the same situation as you, (from the guys perspective) I'll tell you this. He really means it. He's leaving the decision up to you. He's telling you, you can if you want, but you really don't have to. If YOU want to, do it. He shouldn't mind.

I am in a similar situation, I think I am overweight, my boyfriend doesn't. He is always as nice as your guy about it, except I think maybe he is trying to tell you indirectly by saying his 'friends' ask about you losing weight. Why would his friends care, and if they did, why would he tell you? I expect a fully honest answer when I ask my boyfriend about my appearance, and when I ask if I look good, and he says 'yeah, but I think you should change out of that top, it doesn't suit you' I thank him for being honest and be grateful for some spared embarrassment.

What would you rather, your guy telling you to maybe lose a bit of weight to be healthier, in that roundabout way... or some mean b***h saying it out of spite?

Losing weight doesn't mean starving yourself for weeks or months, just small changes in your routine will do the world of good for your health and confidence! Then when only you think you've done enough, you won't have to ask your boyfriend if you need to lose weight, because you know you look amazing, and nothing shines brighter than inner confidence, no matter how thin, tanned, or curvy you are =)

    Do it for yourself!
