    Dripping Tub Spout
    Hello,
We are looking for some help with a dripping tub spout. We have a spout that slides onto the copper spout stub-out and uses an allen screw to secure it. The spout drips from the end where the shower diverter is not near the base/wall. The drip has been with us for months and is now starting to create an orangish discoloration in our tub near the drain. We have tried a new spout, but have the same drip. I read on an earlier posting that sometimes is can be a rough spot on the copper stub-out that catches the "o" ring and rolls it out of the clamp in the spout. Could this be our problem? Is the "o" ring the small black rubber ring inside the spout? We thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

The spout is not dripping, it only looks that way. You are in need of a tub faucet repair. Go to Kissler & Co., Inc. and look up your tub handles and tell us what faucet you have.

We have a single handle faucet by Stanadyne that pulls "on" and pushes "off". We did have a difficult time finding a fixture that fit our pipe because it requires a plate with two screw holes below the knob that are approximately 3/4" apart.

You have a moen château faucet. Never change it. It can be upgraded in many different trim packages. Actually the cartridge has a horseshoe like clip that holds it in. the cartridge must be removed in a special way to prevent it from getting stuck.
Call moen customer service at the 800 number, moen is warranteed for life. Stand in front of the faucet while talking to them telling them your problem. They will send a new cartridge free. You can buy a clone cartridge. Don't. You can buy a moen brass cartridge. Don't. If you must buy, get the 1222 magnum. It is the cheaper but the best. The brass one is difficult to operate shortly after installation. When you are ready to change it out I can give detailed instruction on how.

Right at the base of our main upstairs shower tub spout there is a very small drip. This didn't seem like a big deal, but there is a dark brown line along the top of the tub and now I noticed this morning that the dark brown line/build up continues down the side of the tub and also goes right...
