    Am I a citizen
    I am 24 tears old I live in ethiopia but 13 years ago I use to live in the USA in New York , with my adoptive parents after I lived for 4years they returned me back to ethiopia and they have been living in the USA for over 15years and I wanted to know if I am a citizen through them.and if I am how do I get to the US when my adoptive parents refuse to take me?

    Where was you born? That's question #1 and most important.

    Just because your parents may have lived here... doesn't make them citizens... or you a citizen.

    As I understand you was born and was in Ethiopia until 11... you got adopted and moved here for 4 years then returned to Ethiopia when you was 15... If that is correct... you aren't a citizen here... if they even filed papers when you was here you would have to made that choice when you turned 18 or you didn't become one... you can't do it before then.

    There is no possible way they became citizens here in only 4 years...

    If everything I said above is correct... they only way you can come here is apply on your own.. and wait in line like everyone else trying to come here.
