    Crabapple branches dying
I have a relatively young crabapple that I have recently purchased and planted. In the last month or so, I have noticed leaves located fartherest from the trunk starting to die and the taller branches leading to those leaves are starting to turn a dark color and eventually die from the end of the branch toward the trunk. The trunk and the branches closest to the trunk seem to be thriving. Could it be that something has made it's way into the tree and is killing those branches? I'm at a loss but am looking for a diagnosis and a cure. Thanks for your time.
