Hi there I'm 16 and my son is 11months he got took into foster care about 6 weeks ago due to my previous partner hitting me when the baby was 4 weeks old. My son still lived with me and my mam but my mam was carer of him just recently we went to a court hearing and the judge made the decision that they wanted my son adopted due to a volatile relationship between me and my mam. At first social services stated that my ex partner was the main risk now I'm not with him I have moved on but they still stay he's a risk. What are my human rights to get my son back as he is from a loving family he has been with me since birth and just took away from me 6 weeks ago can anybody give me advice I WANT MY SON BACK!

Second, This is the sad part of children having children. It would appear you became sexually active at 15 and became pregnant without the resources to care for a child. It is, however, extreme for a child to be taken from its parents. So for a judge to do so, indicates there was evidence that the home situation was toxic for the child.

The only hope you have is to talk to your caseworker and find out what conditions you have to meet to get your son back. Then you have to work extra hard to meet those conditions before an adoption can be completed.

Frankly, I think your chances are not very good. You made the decision to have sex and this is one of the consequences of that decision. I suggest you put your efforts into finishing your education, getting your life back to together and moving on. You are young and when you are truly ready you can start a real family.
