Oil leak comes from between engine and transmission
I bought a used Isuzu Crosswind car with 4JA1 engine 3 weeks ago. I noticed an oil leak between engine and transmission. First mechanic changed the oil seal, but leak still exist. I transferred to other mechanic, the same we changed the oil seal, but the oil leaking became serious. The later mechanic advised for the engine overhaul, I am seriously bothered because engine is excellent except that oil leak. Please help what shall I do?

My guess is that the main crankshaft oil seal is leaking. To replace the seal, the transmission needs to be dropped and the flywheel removed. Was this really done? I doubt it. It's no big deal to replace the seal--it's done all the time.
