i love my best friend. we've been best friends for about 2 1/2 years now, and it was all good. but you know, we have fights every now and then, but who doesn't?

but lately, i feel like she just doesn't want to have anything to do with me. she never answers my calls, hardly answers my texts, and if i have a problem or get in trouble, she just tells me it's all my fault and takes the other person's side, leaving me with no support.

i'm not trying to "out-friend" her, but even though she never helps me, even if i have a problem with her, i'll still help her with her boyfriend or family problems. i just really want her to be happy.

it feels like though, she only feels likes she "has" to be friends with me. like, i don't feel like she actually wants to be around me or talk to me or anything. she even told me she would probably leave me for other friends because they're more like her.

she also gets mad at me if i drink or smoke, and calls me ridiculous and stupid if i get really depressed .. but she goes and does the exact same thing. i don't understand it.

i just don't want to lose my best friend at all .. but i think it's happening ..

Sometimes friends grow apart, as sad as it is. Maybe time apart is best, to pursue other crowds and see what happens. You may make other friends, or things may get better between the two of you.

I also think smoking isn't good(if you're talking about narcotics)

As romefalls said, friends grow apart. My best friend in middle school is no longer my best friend. My best friend in high school is no longer my best friend, and he lives 2 minutes from me. My best friend in college lives 800 miles from me, which prevents us from hanging out often.

Things change. If I constantly tried to talk to my old "friends" it would actually stress the relationship more than help it. Give it some time and space, and do your own thing for a little bit.

What are the rest of your friends like then? (rhetorical question and no disrespect)
I've been in a simliar situation and what I've found with people like this is that they generally DON'T CARE.
I'm not saying she doesn't care about you,
But she obviously doesn't care about being as good a friend to you as you are to her.
So stop extending yourself.
If she sees the error of her ways when you stop being so supportive to her, then you can decide whether you want to forgive her, and go back to having a close relationship. :)

I have the same kind of problem. So I got a new friend and now she's taking her away from me, like inviting her to the pictures and not me and ing about me and laughing at me. Can someone help me?
