Help please.. I think I have a uti but I'm not sure. I want to go to the doctor but I don't have insurance. I am hesitant to even say it's a uti though because what if it isn't and I am trying to treat one thing and end up making it worse...

This has been going on for a while. It probably started well over a month ago but the symptoms were sooo mild that I didn't notice. But over the last week they've progressed...

These are my symptoms:
- Urgency, all the time especially when I am trying to sleep.. I'm so tired :(
- Frequent urination.. if I've had a lot to drink its normal but then its just little spurts or a few drops and I have to strain or that urgency feeling won't go away
- doesn't hurt or burn.. slightly uncomfortable - mostly just annoying and time consuming and sleep depriving!
- sometimes it gets itchy but I think that might be irritation form all the wiping
- this isn't very often but (this is the most embarrassing) sometimes when I wake up or have been sitting a long time.. there is a small spot on my underwear.

I have read that you should drink lots of water.. before all this I suspected I was dehydrated because of unrelated symptoms. So my body is not used to drinking this much water.. and this much isn't really that much.. a couple months ago I would go days without any water. Within the last month or so I usually drink about 1 - 2 cups of water a day and sometimes skip days on accident. Since Wednesday I've been trying to drink at least 2 big water bottles.. but then I am just in the bathroom constantly. I'll go lay down or sit down and then "need" to go again 10 minutes later. I read not to hold it so I don't but sometimes and this is the most annoying.. I will be washing my hands after and feel the urge to go.. when I JUST went!

Other details:
- I don't wipe front to back or back to front. I dab.. at most a quick side to side sort of thing. For 2's I use wet wipes and go front to back (sorry tmi, trying to be thorough lol)
- I'm 25
- I'm married but we haven't had much sex lately. I always pee after sex.


What I've tried so far:
- drinking water
- had an orange and some strawberries because I heard vitamins c and a were good for it
- had cucumbers with apple cider vinegar because I heard apple cider vinegar was good for it


I read untreated UTIs can mess up your kidneys and make you sterile! We want to have babies soon... how do you know if its been untreated for that long? I'm scared.

Please help... I don't want to drink anymore water.. I want to take a nap! :( if this is a uti, how much water will I have to drink and for how long until this goes away? I am so tired I'm getting dizzy and shaky..

Spoke with my doctor and they said to take AZO and drink water to treat it.. but why would they say that if everywhere else I read "only antibiotics can sure uti's"... is my doctor wrong?

You can take AZO (be careful it will turn your urine orange and can stain your panties) and drink cranberry juice (it's better than water).

If the UTI is mild this may help, but if it is more advanced you will need antibiotics. The only way to tell how bad it is is to see your doctor for a urinalysis.
