    Elite Washer won't do anything
I have an elite washer mod. # 20056994 I have had for quite some time noe (maybe 6 or 7 years) and all of a sudden it just stopped working. The washer was full of water and clothes and all it did was make a clicking noise like it wanted to start doing something but it did nothing. Any suggestions before I go and buy a new washer

Your timer motor is not advancing the cycles. Check the timer motor first and decide if it is something you can replace yourself depending on your skills. They run about $45.

Can you tell me where I would find the timer motor?

Doesn't look like that is the correct model number, or you're missing a ".".

There a lots of online appliance part vendors. Try using Google, Yahoo, msn, or whatever with your model number. Like this "Kenmore Elite 20056994" in the search criteria. You'll get lots of choices and you can shop for the best deal. (but that model number doesn't work - check again it looks like a serial number to me).

There is a vast difference in pricing. You can buy parts from Sears, but they are the highest.

    Hope that helps,
    Stew

The timer motor is the mechanism behind the knob you trun to start the cycle. You need to unscrew the "hood" of the machine to get at it. There will be a wiring harness leading to it that should unplug, its about the size of a grapefruit.

Sorry, but when I actually thought about this, my washer doesn't have any knobs, it's all electric push thingys. I was trying to find a picture of it and send, but I can't find one. I think it will just be easier to buy a new one. Thanks for the help anyway.
