What are my civil rights on being barred from a convenience store
I have been barred from a convience store near my house for 7 yrs now with no probable cause or proof to the reason I've been barred from this praticular store and here 7 yrs later I've been going in there for almost a year now... an no one has said I wasn't allowed in there till the other day.. then I was told by another manager that I was not allowed in there per the main manager and when ask the reason she could not tell me the reason that I was not allowed in there and to please leave... they have in the past and current on several occasions told my 11 yr old daughter and my 9 yr old daughter that they would call the police if they did anything wrong... so they better get what they need to get and get out... my 11 yr old daughter tried a sample of a product bought by one of the employees there at the store for people to try for free and when she tried the product was told by the main manager of this same store that if she did it again she would go to jail and she is 11... and told her baby sister of 9 the same thing... what are my civil rights on harassment and discrimination for me and my 2 kids ages 11 and 9... do I have grounds for a lawsuit on harassment for me and my 2 kids and discrimination for watever problem she has with me and taking it out on my younger kids? Please some advice I'm at my wits end...

Nope, you have no grounds for winning a lawsuit. Unless you can show that the ban is the result of discrimination against a protected class, a store is allowed to refuse patronage to anyone.

My question is, if you know this store doesn't want you in there, why go in there. If you tried to sue for harassment, the judge would ask that question.

Now, if you could prove the incident where your daughter was threatened with jail for trying a free sample, you could picket the store for being cruel to children. You could write letters to local newspapers complaining about the store practices as long as you say nothing you can't prove.

But a law suit? Don't waste your money.

I just noticed this thread https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/family...ut-660689.html

I wonder if whatever happened to prompt DHS to remove your son might have had something to do with your being banned from the store.
