Brown tobacco substance coming out of my shower head
I've just tried to take a shower and noticed that brown tobacco like material / substance comes out of my shower head, I unscrewed the head and ran the shower with the material occasionally coming out of the hose, what is it, how do İ clean / flush it out?

You have to teach your roommates the shower hose isn't a spitoon... :-)
Actually what it likely is... is rust and sediment. Do you have Iron pipes?

I think smoothy nailed it! If you have a older house with galvanized pipes or if you don't flush your water heater on a regular basis your lines cold be loaded with rust and mineral buildup plus sediment from the water heater. The solution would be to flush out your lines and set a schedule to start flushing your heater. Good luck, Tom

Remove shower head and run water for 5 minutes - both hot and cold. The sediment should clear from your pipes. Question: any recent plumbing work done in your house ?
Back to you. Milo
