A broken dent inside a toilet bowl
I knocked a heavy glass antique insulator off the window sill and it fell into the toilet bowl below causing a broken dent approximately 1". It is located above the standing water line inside the bowl. Any ideas on if this could be patched? Any help will be appreciated? BT

Don't use that toilet. Replace it. Once its integrity is compromised, it can fall into pieces anytime you sit on it.

Agree with Milo. Even if the toilet doesn't crack further, the area where the chip is will be quite unsanitary and impossible to keep clean.

I agree with both experts. If possible replace the bowl with the same brand and model. That way you can use the old tank. Don't forget to pick up a new wax seal, a set of tank and closet bolts plus a new spud washer. Good luck, Tom

All of us say the same thing, don't try to fix just replace the bowl. Once the surface of vitreous china is broken the unit looses much of its strength let alone cleanable surface.
