    Foodborne illness recovery
    Hello,
Last week I became ill 12 hours after eating food from a restaurant (vomiting, diarrhea, stomach burning and cramping, sweating and cold chills, which lasted 3 hours and then subsided).
It has been five days and I feel back to normal, except I have very low level abdominal pain. It's not quite nausea, but it is almost like muscle pain, and my upper abdomen (above belly button) is tender when pressed. Is that normal after 5 days? Thanks for any advice.

I guess you mean food poisoning because you had or still have some of the symptoms and you should not have them after two days if you went to a your healthcare provider to be diagnosed and the pertinent bacteria, viruses, parasites, or toxins you came in contact with. You would have had to name the restaurant where you ate so that no one else could have become ill. They should have been inspected by the health department.

Severe dehydration can occur if you are not seen by your doctor.
