I am hoping that someone would be able to answer a couple of my questions.

Here's my situation(kind of long, sorry :/ )

When I was 14 or 15 (I can't remember the exact age), I was caught shoplifting from the Bay. I was arrested by the store security and the cops came and my parents were called. I had admitted to shoplifting, the police had written down some papers and my parents signed the papers. I was not sent to court for this offence, but they did send me to a meeting with a police officer and some other youths who had committed the same crime. After the meeting the police officer signed a paper stating that I have gone to the meeting and that was it. I did pay a fine that was requested by the Bay and was banned from that store for a year, but nothing else had happened.

Now I am 20 years old, and I am wondering if I have a criminal record regarding this incident. I have read on some websites that the record gets sealed and only the government/police can access it, while some others say that the record can be accessed by anyone who requests to see it. My question is:

1. Will my employer be able to see the record upon request?

2. When asked if I have ever been charged with a crime or if I have ever committed a crime, do I say yes or no?

Does a record exist, yes and no, nothing will show up on a police record done, I doubt if even a search by a private search company would.

Now if you ever run for some high office, is there some file in some store or may some police officer remember and have a note in some notebook. Yes, So if you are ever up for Prime Minister or something like that, expect someone to uncover it.

If you are going to work for some business no.
