    Violation by employer
    I work for a healthcare provider and my supervisor contacted employee health in regards to putting me on FMLA without consulting me is this a hippa violation?

    Not necessarily. Did you request FMLA? Do you need FMLA in regards to an illness your employer is also treating you for? Is your employer treating you for anything.

    HIPAA (not hippa) protects a PATIENT from having their medical diagnosis or treatment revealed to an unauthorized third party without permission. Did that happen?
