    Okay, Im 16, Male, and I'm 5 ft 10
    Im very fit person. Ive always played football, cricket, gone swimming, gone to a gym, all that healthy stuff.
    Anyway In September 2011, I quit football, for no particular reason. And cricket as well. This didn't affect my weight at all.
    But since christmas, my weight has increased "rapidlly"
    I remember weighing myself on christmas eve just for a laugh and I was 145 pounds.
    Then, gradually, without me even noticing, I began eating more, and more junk. I was eating a lot of chocolate and crips, as well as fizzy drinks. But I wasn't getting any fatter.
    I was also drinking more alcohol than before. Not loads, but like every normal teenager, going out once a week, getting smashed. Then having the occasional few during the week.
    Anyway. I gained no weight at all for 3 and a half months. Eating what and however much I liked, drinking with mates. Only going to the gym oncce a week!
    Then at around the start of April I noticed id put on a few pounds, only like 3 or 4, but I thought this was just puberty. Then it was another 2, then another 2, and so on.
    It was only when I was invited out for a meal with my mates last week, that I realised how much weight id put on.
    Because he was leaving the country we decided to go out properly, suits and all that. Anyway. I had the suit I wore at christmas still so I thought that will do. Went to put it on and the shirt wouldn`t button up past the 3rd button down. And the trousers were unbelievably tight. Anyway I managed to put it on and my belly hungover by about 3 inches, all the way round the waistband.
    Anyway Im not proud to say I now have a double chin, love handles, and a small beer belly. And Im now 178 pounds!
    I want to know why the weight all piled on at once?
    And Am I fat?

    Im 16, male, and I gained 35 pounds in 5 months. I was really careless with food and I didn't exercise at all. So too me, 5 pounds is nothing

    There is some slight over weight, not really "fat" the position of each person at least the guy seems posed to make his weight look worst.

    I would say some exercise and actually more muscle tone would help more than anything
