Water pressure boost
Hello all. I've been reading through similar post's but haven't found any solutions to my particular problem. My business is on government property without the option of putting in my own well. We have our own hydrant that is located about 200 feet from the well. On top of that, where we need the water is another 100' away from the hydrant. By the time the water gets where we need it the pressure & flow is very low. Is there any 'simple' way to increase our pressure at the end of the hose? BTW the water is constantly flowing. We are continuosly filling a water tank, and in doing so there is not enough water pressure to use another hose for general rinsing and washing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The county owns it. They only use it for a single, seldom used toilet and sink in their shop.

What size pump? What's the control box set at? What size pipes are both the suction and discharge pipes? What material are they, plastic? Galvanized? PSI at the well head and PSI at the terminal? Back to you, Tom

"BTW the water is constantly flowing." What do you mean by that? Why would the water be constantly flowing?
" We are continuosly filling a water tank, and in doing so there is not enough water pressure to use another hose for general rinsing and washing."
Also rather strange. Filling a water tank for what?
It sounds like you have a volume problem. With water constantly running to fill a tank for whatever reason, you simply don't have a large enough pipe to supply enough water. Would there be any chance of running larger pipe from the well to your business?

The reason for the constantly running water is that we are an aerial application company and we will use around 8,000-10,000 gallons a day, always filling our 4,000 gal tank. The county wants absolutely no changes or improvements on the property. I don't have access to the well (it is in their well shed (locked). I'll try to do some snooping to find the specs on the well, lines, and control box. I know the line coming to our hydrant is 1" plastic. I don't think the county will let us do much of anything to their well or lines. I'm hoping a pressure adjustment or possibly some sort of boost pump on our end will be a possibility.

"Agpilot". I should have picked up on that.
A booster pump would, I think, help. I'd run one into a pressure tank with a check valve to keep water from running "backwards" back to the pump. A booster pump is nice, but remember that it cannot overcome a lack of volume. The pressure tank would insure that you would have enough water to fluish commodes, fill a sink, take a short shower, etc.
