NO! Do you understand what HIPPA actually is.. It protects you from them e-mailing or otherwise giving your medical records or info in it to everyone not on the relase form.. but it has NOTHING at all to do with your employment status.

I do not think that my question called for rudeness.

I wasn't being rude, I was being right to the point.. . did you ever try to Google up what HIPAA is? It has ZERO to do with employment issues... and there is no law that prevents them from telling everyone you either quit or got fired and are leaving the company... in fact such notices are very common.

If you aren't familiar with how to Google the info up... you can just click on this link... http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa...ing/index.html

It tells you all about the HIPAA rules.

    And here is a summary..

Guys, its HIPAA and I don't think this is a violation since it appears to say nothing about your medical condition or issues. Where do you work and why would you think HIPAA

It is common practice to inform employees when someone has left the company. And as noted, it has nothing to do with HIPAA.

I'm curious why you thought it might.

Do you first work for a medical office, hospital or some place that is covered under Hipaa ?

Next if you do, did the email give out any of your medical info.

I am sorry if some of the experts seem rude, I guess they just wonder why anyone would think that a law that has to do with medical professionals giving our your medical info, had anything to do with a notice you were leaving a company?

I am trying to see if perhaps there was a reason, maybe you left for medical reasons and they told it ?
