    917.271643 16 hp craftsman riding mower will not stay running
    16hp Craftsman Riding Mower # 917-271643 will not stay running. I can get it to run for only a few seconds with starting fluid but it sounds really weak and it just dies out.

    Hi,
    Suggest you remove the four bolts holding on the valve cover and check the rocker arms movement. They should move roughly equally. If that is okay, then ir lilely a dirty carb.
