Help my hair is patchy not quite orange more ginger

I used highlighting kit which did turn my hair ginger then I put on a honey blonde on to tone it down. It's got dark patches and is a gold ginger. Not sure where to go from here whether to put a light brown on or go darker or even put another hair dye on at all. Please help
