Turned a breaker off and it won't go back on
I turned a breaker off to change an outlet and went to turn the breaker back on but I can't push it back to the on position. I tried and I heard a loud bang and it tripped again. The outlet is wired correctly and no wires are touching. What is happening?

That loud bang tells me you have a dead short. I'd disconnect that receptacle and take another try. Black wire on brass screw, white wire on aluminium screw.

Agree with Mr.B. You have a short or ground fault somewhere.
