Are you saying you can't find the distrubutor plug wire, or spark plug, Or you don't think it's the problem? If I remember correctly jeeps have a part called a crank sensor witch is on the bell houseing. It works off your fly wheel to time the engine, look under the jeep on the bell houseing and there should be a blue bolt 5/16 head.. unscrew this and replace with a new one, I think they run about 20 bucks.

Try that first as it's the cheapest way to go be4 changing electronic ignition parts.

To clear that up, No I do not see a distributor or plug wires at all. There is a bar that appears to house some coils and possibly covers the plugs as well.

2000 4.0l.engines do not have a distributor or plug wires. It is a coil on plug engine. They discontinued the distributor design on 4.0l in 99. The crank position sensor is located on the top of the bell housing on drivers side. Two 11mm bolts and the plug for it is connected to the trans. I recommend a thin ratcheting 11 mm wrench. Otherwise a long extension and swivel will do the trick. This is a very common problem with these vehicles. I just did one two days ago as a matter of fact.

Also, try this... Check fuel pressure first. Spec for your jeep is 49.2 + or ~ 5psi. And it shod climb fast when the key is on. And maintain while running or reving. The needle vibrating while at idle is normal.
