    Both names on mortgage
    My husband wants to put my name on our mortgage as well, do we need to put my name on the deeds as well?

    You don't need to - the bank doesn't really care. But for your own protection you should consider it. If your name is not on the deed then you have no ownership rights in the house, even if you make some of the mortgage payments (unless you're in a community property state). Imagine this nightmare: your husband is the sole owner, he dies without a will, and he has a child from a previous marriage. In most states his estate would be split 50:50 between wife and child, which means that the child from the previous marriage becomes a 50% owner of the house with you. Much better for you to be listed as joint tenants with right of survivorship - that way the house goes to you with no question.
