    How to ask my mom for braces?
    I am 11 years old and I am going into middle school next year. But my teeth look like I was in 2nd grade I am so embarrassed about my teeth. When I smile I don't show my teeth. I get teased a lot about my teeth. There is a HUGE gap between my front teeth. Please help me.

    You may talk to her about it, but to be honest, do you have dental insurance, can your parents afford this, I am sorry but braces cost a lot of money and in many families there is not several thousand dollars laying around to spend.

Also, you can talk to your dentist at your next cleaning appointment for ideas on how to discuss the possibility with your Mom. Braces aren't just about good looks.
