This morning my right upper and lower arm started hurting. I can describe the pain as more like a nerve pain radiating from my shoulder all the way down to my fingers. It came in spasms and was felt mostly along the line of my inner elbow down to the fingers. When the spasms occur, my right arm felt weak. Later I felt a pain in the right side of my chest.

At first I thought I was getting a stroke so I kept monitoring my face in the mirror to see if there were any changes. None thus far. However, I decided to lie down for a while and elevate the hand on a pillow and slept for about an hour or more.

When I woke up the pain was not so bad but was still there. I had no numbness, just a bit of pins and needles sometimes that last for a split second. I wonder what could be the cause of this all day episode.

It sounds like a nerve in your neck may be getting pinched. A chiropractor or even your MD will send you for x-rays and probably an MRI to determine this.
