    Should I act on it?
I know this might probably be one of most typical schoolgirl dilemmas out there and maybe that's why I already know how improbable this might be but at the same time it has been bugging me for quite a while.

First induction day at uni, meeting with department members in this huge lecture hall, me sitting at the front. As staff members sat themselves down I noticed this particular guy looking my way and flashing a subtle smile at me. I thought he got me mixed up with someone else but he kept glancing my way during the whole induction and at times it even got slightly embarrassing because I am sure it was pretty blatant. Anyway I put all that behind me for a couple of weeks, before randomly bumping into this guy who is apparently a lecturer again, him showing me that he obviously still recognized me.

And at one department gathering he was talking to some of his colleagues but as I walked past him he suddenly stopped talking and paying attention to the others just to look and smile knowingly my way. All this innocent flirting thing has been going on for some months now but the funny thing is that we never actually had any proper contact with each other, not even a conversation as I belong to a different subdivision of the department.

Should I act on it, or burst my own bubble, and forget the whole business?

Since you have no clue who he is, then take your chances, but at least wait until he says "HI"!
