    Change a wallpaper resolution
    Hey Folks,

I've got some 1680x1050 wallpapers, saved one by mistake in 1900xx1200 and found that the higher resolution works fabulously. Is it possible to change from the lower to the higher within the Win 7 OS capabilities?

    Thanks in advance

    Depends on your hardware.
Can your graphics card and monitor handle this higher resolution ?
If so go for it, simply right click on the desktop and select Screen Resolution.

You can also use a free graphics program to increase the size of the wallpapers leaving the screen resolution alone. Locate where the wallpapers are kept (in XP its under C > Windows > Web > Wallpapers. To keep copies of the originals, load them into the graphics (I use Irfanview), edit/resize them and add a 1 or 2 to the name so when you save them to the wallpaper folder they do not overwrite the originals, and you will be able to identify the modifies ones. Remember though, when you put a 1900x1200 wallpaper onto a 1680x1050 screen some of the picture will be off the screen.

Its also fun to use a screen capture program like Gadwins Print Screen to grab a shot of your desktop with a blank color and your icons, and then use a graphics program to mess around with it and make it fun, silly or useful (I added a different color to the left side and bottom where I usually keep my icons).
