Not sure if I'm depressed or just going through a phase..
I'm 24 and have a home, kids, job, boyfriend etc. I love them dearly but I feel sad a lot even on good days... I always try to get my boyfriend to understand but he doesn't understand the weight of the situation no matter how I try to explain. We are doing great and he makes me very happy. I'm mixed and he's white and his parents don't like me because of my race. It bothers me a lot... :( We are so in love and my two girls love him. I also have been having problems w an ovarian cyst and dealing with my mother going to a nursing home recently. I wish I could be happy as I have been even in the worst situations but lately I've been unusually down. I don't have insurance or much money for counseling. Any suggestions?

You can't force people to like you, Just be yourself. If his parents don't like you that's their own problem. Don't make yourself miserable trying to get them to like you. And as for being sad. Look at your kids and put on a smile. Laugh. Take a day off. Love. Think about how blessed you are. Things could be worse... so smile. :)

See that's what I mean. I took two days off work, played w my girls and I know how amazing my girls and my boyfriend are and that's the puzzling part. It seems even though I know and am thankful for those I have I am still sad. I don't understand it. Im an optimist so it bothers more so knowing I feel sad and cannot appreciate my life to its fullest. I want to enjoy all the good around me but somehow I can't run from these sad, stressed,or even angry feelings.

You need a long-term solution, not happiness from looking at your kids and smiling.

Does a local church offer counselling?

Sometimes only someone with some experience in helping other people can help - I'd look into that.
