    No cold water pressure
I have been living in a mobile home now for about 3 years, after about a year of living there the owner put a new well in. Since then we have had a problem with low or no cold water pressure. What is aggravating about this is that the water pressure in our kitchen sink, and bathroom sinks are just fine, as is the faucet for the hose pipe outside. The hot water pressure throughout the house works perfectly, but there is no cold water pressure in either bathroom's tubs, and it is constantly making it where no cold water will run into the washing machiene. Please tell me anything I can do or may try to get better pressure. I am not best "Ms. Fix It" but I do know my way around some tools and stuff, so if you can explain it simply that would be great!! Appretiation in advance... Lindz527

The owner needs to do this repair. Sounds to me that your cold inlets on some faucets are plugged. The cold coming into the house is fine otherwise you would not have good presssure (its actually volume) on the hot side. Shut off your main incoming supply and open the faucet or mixing valve on the tub. If you give me the brand and model I can be more specific or post a picture. BTW one handle tub valve or two?

I am not sure of the brand or model of the faucet, but it is a two handle, one for hot one for cold. As this is a mobile home, a lot of the stuff to do with the pipes and stuff are behind walls that have to be removed, will the repair you are suggesting require me to remove these walls? My elderly grandmother is actually the owner, and I rent from her, so I try to do most repairs and upkeep myself. Again, any help is greatly appreciated

Back in the 70s I worked as a line plumber in mobile home factories. We used Gerber Faucets back then. There's no doubt in my mind that you have dirt and trash clogging your faucets. These repairs won't require you to open up any walls. Ready to start? Turn the water of to the trailer. Remove the cold water knob and any chrome plate that may be under it. You will find a nut on the stem. This is "The Bonnet Packing Nut". Unscrew it and back the stem and washer assemble out counterclockwise. Now place a towel over the open valve and have someone turn the water back on to flush out the supply and valve body. You should have a strong stream. If not then tell me about it. If you have good pressure then reassemble the tub valve and do the same thing to the other tub valve.
As for the washer. Turn off the cold water to the washer and unscrew the hose. It will have a screen on the hose. If it's clogged clean the screen and try it now. If you still don't get pressure then click back and we'll explore further. Good luck, Tom
