Lost clot. It is Sunday what can I do until I can get into dentist?
It is Sunday and I am 4 days out from upper molar extraction. The blood clot came out about an hour ago and I am experiencing pain. What can I do until I get in to my dentist?

Take acetaminophen or 8 mg codeine if you have it. Keep the dry socket clean of food and rinse with a mild sapt solution. An ER usually will not do anything to do with dentistry but you can show up or call them. Your dentist will dress the socket to restart the healing process. Discomfort and swelling are difficult to avoid and should be expected, no smoking or use of a straw to drink anything.
