    Granite Counter Tops Troubles
    OK, here is my delima...
I just had granite counter tops installed. They did not seal them so it was left up to me to do it. I bought a kit with everything needed to seal and wax it.
Well, being the handy woman that I am  I messed up.
I did a small section to get the feel of it. It looked good, so I went about doing the rest of it, except I used my wax applying cloth (which had wax on it) to spread the sealer... So the sealer was mixed with a little wax and didn't seal properly.
Now the counter tops have a greasy, hazy look. What can I use to clean off this so that I can start over. Mild soap isn't working. I thought maybe ammonia or windex, but I don't want to mess anything up.
I called the company where it was bought, but they don't know what to tell me because they are just a wholesaler and they don't clean, seal, or wax.
I tried a few other full service places, but every one of them told me they can charge me to have someone come out and look at it.
Does anyone know what I can strip or clean this with so I can properly seal it?
    Thanks for any info,
    Kae

Granite is not all that porous compared to marble and soap stone. You may need to repeat the process serveral times but keep trying a Daily or weekly granite cleaner. What you are running into is the sealer and the wax each have a different solvent. Water , with a touch of detergent, is the universal solvent.
