If a ball is dropped from the top of a 256-ft building, then the formula

    h(t)=256-16t^2

Expresses its height h(t) in feet as a function of the time t in seconds.

1.Find h(2), the height of the ball 2 seconds after it is dropped.

    2.Find h(4)

qushak - you simply substitute the number 2 for where the 't' is in the equation. Let me give you an example: suppose the formula had been h(t)=30 - 4.9t^2, and you wanted to know the height at 1 second. Then h(1) = 30-4.9(1)^2 = 30-4.9=25.1. Do you see how I simply shoved the number 1 in for where the 't' was? Use this same technique on your problem, only put a '4' in place of 't' in 256-16t^2.

Post back with what you get and we'll check it for you.
