I wired my Hampton Bay remote controlled ceiling fan that does not have pull strings, but the fan or the light will just turn this self on or off at any time. Does anyone have any idea's?

On a Hampton Bay 3 speed ceiling fan does it matter if you install a 3 or 4 speed wall switch? Does it matter what speed the fan is set on to use the 3 or 4 speed wall switch?
