Yes from everything I have read, it is true, that it can put the babies life at risk. You should see a doctor, from what I understand, there is a treatment and way around this. I will keep looking for you. Hopefully someone else knows more than I do.

Sad to say but I think it may cause complications or problems during the 2nd pregnancy. There are certain medications and shots which are administered to the mother who is blood type O- or blood type O with rhesus - that could prevent this from happening. But I think these shots should be given to the mother for hours after the delivery of her first baby.
Rh or rhesus is one of the most important human blood group systems of our body. Rh(rhesus)+ have antigen d antibodies while rh(rhesus)- doesn't have antigen d antibodies. This antigen D is a big factor in promoting better and stronger immune system. So when you are pregnant with your 2nd baby, and if you have blood type O with Rh negative and if your baby is type O but with Rh positive this can cause anemia to the baby while he/she is still inside your womb because the baby's antibodies fights the blood which he/she gets from his mother. You know that mom shares blood to her fetus inside her womb.
It's much safer if you and your husband could get help from medical experts or health care givers. For now just enjoy your time with your husband and your first child.. good luck..

This was true 40+ years ago, but is no longer accurate. I know because I was an Rh baby. When the mother is negative and the baby is positive the mother's antibodies attack the baby's red blood cells. This causes a lack of hemoglobin which can result in anemia. The result is what was referred to as a blue baby. The lack of hemoglobin left a bluish tint to the baby's skin.
The thing is the interaction of Rh- and Rh+ between mother and child is well known and one of the first things an OB/Gyn will test for. If it is determined that a -/+ issue exists, there are mature treatments that make the chances of problem with the child extremely small. And anemia, which is the likely problem, is very treatable.
So, I would discuss this with your OB/Gyn, but I'm confident that your doctor will not try to prevent your trying for another child because of this.

Hi suggest... who has the O - ? If it is your husband, that is not a problem, if it is you, then you can have other children, but your doctor would need to monitor you and you would receive an injection of what is called RhIg to prevent your body from producing antibodies that could fight against baby's blood.
This usually isn't a problem in a first pregnancy, but for any others, the injection is given later in pregnancy and again after birth for each pregnancy.
It rarely is a problem when handled in this way. There can be problems for the baby, some quite serious, however, if the mother had already developed these antibodies. The injections in this situation would not help and baby would be very carefully monitored during the pregnancy. Appropriate treatment can be given during pregnancy and/or after birth depending on the severity of baby's condition.
As was said, discuss it with your doctor. I am sure that they will be able to ease your mind.

Since you are O+, there should be no problem. It is only when the mother is negative that a problem may exist.

Ok Yesterday I got to pick up my puppy from the vet because it was getting treatment for Parvo. I was wondering what would be the best food out there that won't be to hard on her stomach? And would regular food like what we eat be best or dog food?
