    Could I be pregnant?
Me and my boyfriend have been trying to conceive a child for a month now. The first couple of times we tried I was not ovulating and came on my period, the next go around we waited until ovulation and now I believe that I might be starting my period again. Could this be implantation bleeding or the start of a light period?

    Hi concerned24,

See what happens over the next few days. If the bleeding continues as an expected period, that is likely what it is. Implantation, if it is noticed, is usually a small amount of bleeding or spotting for a day or so.

It is important to keep in mind that while some couples do become pregnant the first month of trying, the vast majority will not. It often takes many months of actively trying before pregnancy occurs and for some couples it can naturally take longer than a year.

Since you are trying to become pregnant, be sure to start taking a prenatal vitamin or multivitamin now and make any other lifestyle changes that you know would be healthy. This goes for your boyfriend as well and a healthy lifestyle can effect the health of his sperm.
