    Toilet bowl cracked
There is a crack on the inside of my toilet bowl, extending a little above the water line and going right up to the rim. I've tried caulk as well as a clay-like epoxy. Nothing sealed the crack so far, which leaks water when flushed. Any suggestions on repair?

Toilets are vitreous china, not going to patch this material. Does the crack show on te horizontal surface above the rim? Inside the bowl or on the outer surface?

If this weren my call I'd get a replacement bowl that's the same brand as the old one. Chances are it will fit your old tank. I would also replace the tank bolts and the spud washer, DO NOT crank down hard on the tank bolts when you install. Leave 1/4"? Of play in the tan k. If you don't leave some play the first person that leans back witt put a strain on the tank bolts and crack the bottom of the tank. Good luck, Tom

Stop using it now. Replace it as soon as possible with new bowl. It can crack anytime you sit on it. Remember, you are sitting on piece of "glass" (porcelain). Injuries are not pretty. Please, deal with it ASAP. You can purchase good toilet for under $100.00 from Big Box Store. Back to you. Milo

    Hey Milo,
Your post reminds me that back in Tampa In the late 60's I* had a fat lady set on the toilet and the floor gave way dropping her ,toilet bare butt and all, down three feet into the crawl space. I was running service calls at the time. Do you know how hard it was to keep a straight face as this lady was explaining just what happened? Too funny! C heers, Tom
