    Furnace shuts off
    My oil furnace will shut off during the day or evening. I can usually get it going again by pressing the restart button. Even then, sometimes it won't click in, sometimes it will run for half a minute and shut down. If I restart a few times with very short runs, it evventually will run for an hour or two. There is also an oil smell in the house. It is a 20+ yr old assembly

    STOP hitting the reset. Call for service. I am sure it needs a tune up and filter change. By hitting the reset you are over riding the safety control. Call for service.
