Relocating the inside central heating and air
We purchased an older home and the central heating and air unit is located in the middle of the house. Specifically inside the hallway. I wanting to tear out that wall, but in order to do that I need to move the unit. Can I move this to the garage? The condensation drain pipe goes straight down into the concrete slab. The unit is electric air/gas heat. Which our hot water heater is located right next to the A/C unit. I would love to move it to the garage as well. It is gas. Can anyone please tell me what the costs would be and if this is even possible...
    Thank you so much!

Yes it can be done. The only question is what it will cost. You are moving the air handler, refrigerant lines, gas lines and not even talking about supply and return ducting. Can you put it above it in an attic area maybe? Just above it?

I never thought about that! Can a gas furnace be placed in an attic?

Yes, most definitely. As long as they meet the code requirements for your area and the space works you should be good. Good luck
