Bill! LMAO! You are cracking me up here! I see that you are gleefully answering all of them now. I noticed the other guy that seems to have the answers but I think he got at least one wrong.

I am enjoying seeing all these obscure answers! Thanks for all the updates.

Bill... I want to compare answers with you now that the contest is over. I was admiring your posts and wanted to confer with you before, but I knew it was not in either of our best interests.

Dear Toni, (May I call you that?)

I'd be happy to compare answers! (Now, anyway. <g>)

Which ones did you have in mind?

Please call me Toni... Although, I feel pretty confident, besides the Gloria Hendry question, I spent most of my time on the following questions... #60, #70 & #73.

I hope you don't mind if I try with my answer.
    60. Once Upon a Time in The West, Ennio Morricone
    70. Minerva Urecal
    73. Isabelle Hupert.

I hope it's the same with your answer. I'm already out of the game, compare to Billnut. One of my 4 mistake is Susan Sarandon instead of Gloria.

    What a relief...
I came up with the same answers as you.
    Thanks for responding.
    You're really good at this.

#60 was ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST by Ennio Morricone (There were a few Sergio Leone references in this quiz, and Morricone received an honorary Oscar this year.)

$70 was Minerva Urecal. This caused me a bit of concern, until I found that she played a sister of the main character in THE APE MAN.

#73 was Isabelle Huppert. This was one of the few I knew off the bat, because I love the movie COUP DE TORCHON, which is based on a Jim Thompson novel. (However, I did double check the other roles.)

    Were these answers you got?

I'm going to be honest - I've never entered the StarLedger contest in the past. But when I saw questions that mentioned Warren Zevon, Tom Waits, the Clash AND Springsteen, I knew I had enter, and felt pretty confident. I host a radio show in northwestern NJ, and those folks are among my favorites.

I came up with the same answers that you did!

Oh, and please refer to me as Bill. My surname is Nutt (two "t"s!).

Thanks for answering Bill. I did come up with those answers, so I feel better now. Although, I may be obsessing a little bit, lol. I have been doing this contest since the first year it started and have never won, but I have gotten better as far as answering more questions correctly. It seems the same guy wins every year (I don't know his name). There were a lot of music questions this year, more so than other years. I'm glad you got involved, it becomes addicting.

You might be thinking of Bob Scarpone, a lawyer who lives in Flanders, NJ. He was a five-time JEOPARDY champ a number of years ago, and he did very well in the tournament of champions for that year. I ran into him at a (now demolished) Sam Goody store in Hackettstown.

Thanks for the kind words, Toni! Even if nothing comes of the contest, I've enjoyed coming on this site and meeting cool people!

And yes - I can see what you mean about the contest being addictive!

Roaring pipes? [ 1 Answers ]

This is a home that was built back in the late 60's/early 70's. Initially the first thing I noticed is with the basement toilet. It sounded like it was flushin' or refillin' on it's own. Now when it does that the pipes (I'm guessin' the pipes) seem to roar/whine. I've checked the water level in the...
