Walker instead of Appaloosa?
Is there any reason why I should NOT use a Walker quadruplex cable which I received instead of the Appaloosa I was expecting?
The application is 88 feet overhead pole to pole.

I had answered four hours ago but maybe it did't go.
I made an error in the name of the cable I received and it is actually called Walking!
It's a 4/0 quadruplex but with an aluminum messenger wire rather than steel.

I am unable to find Walking also, if it does not have a steel messenger, I doubt it is suitable for aerial installation.

Southwire's site says the Walking has a 6201 aluminum alloy messenger wire which they say is the same 4/0 size and stronger than the steel!
(8560 lbs for Walking vs. 8350 for the Appaloosa)

What could you possibly need 4/0 free air wire for?

I wanted to use 1/0 but with aluminum wire (cost) and the 100 feet I am going to get to the buildings, combined with the 200 amp disconnect at the meter pole and the 200 amp breaker box for the building I was forced to use 4/0. (Also, the cost to replace the two 200 amp breakers so I could use the 1/0 was $300)
