    Mailing address on W2, W7 and 1040
    Hi,
    I have following questions:
    1) Is it necessary for me to put the same mailing address that I have on my W2 on the W7 form "applicants mailing address" section (W7 is for my spouse who does not have an SSN) as well as form 1040 "Home address" section? Or I can give a different address?
The reason is that I no longer live on the address which is mentioned on my W2.

    2) In section 6C of form W7 "Type of US visa, number and expiry date" what should I put as a US visa number ? There is a 14 digit control number and then there is a 8 digit number in red.
I tried to Google this and this link tells me that it's a 8 dight number in red :
    www.yale.edu/ppdev/forms/ap/IIFInstructions.pdf
But this link tells me that it's a 14 digit number :
    https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/taxes/...ion-65722.html

    3) If it's a 14 digit number is it purely numeric? I am asking because there are zeros and zeros with a forward slash so I thought they might be O's (as in Orange).
    Please guide me.
    Thanks,
    Asutosh

    1) Use your CURRENT correct address.

    2) The W-7 instructions are not clear. I believe they want the control number. The other link is for filing out the W-8BEN, not the W-7.

    3) It is purely numeric.
